The Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan, Qazaq Joğary Lojasy, is the regular, sovereign and independent Grand Lodge of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was consecrated at the Orient of Almaty on 12 November 2016, and five Lodges work under its obedience today, at Almaty, Astana and Bishkek.
What the Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan does
It constitutes and governs the Lodges
The Grand Lodge grants the warrant under which every Lodge of its obedience works, keeps their registers and sees that they work according to the Constitution and the Ancient Landmarks.
It keeps the regularity of the Craft
It maintains the line of consecration that joins it to the Grand Lodge of Russia, the Grande Loge Nationale Française and the United Grand Lodge of England, and admits no departure from the Basic Principles of 1929.
It represents Kazakh Freemasonry abroad
It holds fraternal relations with sister Grand Lodges, receives their delegations and is represented at theirs.
It serves its Brethren and its country
It encourages the study of Masonic history and symbolism, supports the charity of its Lodges and keeps alive the memory of Alikhan Bökeyhan, the first Kazakh Freemason.
How it is governed
The Assembly of the Grand Lodge, made up of the representatives of its Lodges, is its supreme body. It elects the Grand Master, adopts the Constitution and approves the work of the year.
The Grand Master, M.W. Bro. Sergey Kravchenko, is the head of the Grand Lodge and the highest Masonic authority in its territory. Between Assemblies the Grand Lodge is governed by the Council of Grand Officers, which the Grand Master heads.
The Grand Secretary, V.W. Bro. Stepan Shramko, keeps the official records of the Grand Lodge and conducts its correspondence. The Grand Chancellor, R.W. Bro. Valikhan Moldabekov, answers for its legal and administrative affairs and ensures that its rules are observed.
